Longitudinal Study of Changes in Shoulder Pathology in the Year After SCI

The purpose of this study is to compare the changes in ultrasound findings, physical examination, and symptoms of shoulder pain at the end of one year in spinal cord injury patients and in persons who do not have spinal cord injury.

Inclusion Criteria:

1. Candidates will be men or women, 20 years of age or older, with an acute incomplete or complete traumatic Spinal Cord Injury that occurred within the past 6 months.
2. Candidates must be paraplegics with an ASIA classification of A, B, or C;
3. Candidates must be enrolled prior to discharge from their initial in-patient rehabilitation, and use a manual wheelchair for at least the majority of their mobility.
